My computer diedThis page is under construction: Content outline: No power. Power light not lit. Not plugged in. Before you open the case press power switch for 20 seconds while unplugged to discharge caps. Power switch faulty. Loose internal wiring - check power supply to mother board plug. Power supply. Get a new power supply/switch. If you don't scratch it, or break it many electronics shops will allow you to return it. Warning! Don't try to fix a power supply on your own! Ground thyself for static! No display. Driving blind. If you have a AGP slot, put a new video card in it. Otherwise your motherboard video is shot and it's time to either replace your computer or get a new mother board - whichever makes economic sense. If you are fortunate enough to have a name brand computer (Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway, Sony, etc.) check your warranty! They may replace it. Dead drive. Boot from a floppy, if possible. Run bios. New drives are cheap. Warranties may be in place for drives, even if warranty runs out on your computer.
