My Computer is Slow

Causes of slow computer:

#1 cause:  Spyware, malware, viruses,

#2 cause:  Old computer

#3 cause:  hardware failure - specifically hard drive - run diagnostic from hard drive manufacturer, get a new hard drive.

#4 cause:  swap file not set properly

#5 cause: maybe you're doing hard stuff like heavy graphics or database work and you need to get more RAM, new CPU, new hard drive with more space.  If you are really serious about graphic production, get a mac G5!  Usually this isn't a problem because by the time you have it, you already know what kind of hardware and software tools you are going to need.
